As Judge Neil Gorsuch faces his confirmation hearings to be the next Supreme Court Justice, the Trump White House and Republican Senators continue to say that he is a strong conservative in the mold of Justice Antonin Scalia, who he would replace. If Judge Gorsuch’s views on the constitutional right to vote are the same as Justice Scalia’s, however, there is great cause for concern. The right to vote is the most important and fundamental right we enjoy. It provides the foundation for our democracy. The discussion of Asian representation in film and television has been reignited this week following the less-than-well received premiere of Marvel’s “Iron Fist” and the news that Marvel almost went in a different direction, casting-wise. (Seriously, whatever Krispy Kreme paid to be an actual plot point in this movie, they got their money’s worth.) The latest American version of the Japanese show “Super Sentai” — there have been two previous movies, as well as something like 20 TV series — reboots the by-now familiar tale of five teenagers who discover colored coins that imbue them with…

The New York Times recently delivered an extraordinary investigative journalism report depicting how our country’s continued romance with waging war on drugs has taken on a local and chilling nature. The “War on Drugs” in this country dates back a long time, but was popularized by Richard Nixon, and then amplified by Ronald Reagan. The utter failure for decades of border interdiction and crop eradication coupled with alienating neighborhoods with ‘buy and bust’ tactics (which have had no more of a momentary effect and have led to more juveniles being ‘employed’ in drug dealing to elude jail sentences) has had…

Over 2,000 invitees got their first looks at TAO Asian Bistro (a subterranean restaurant/lounge, not a club like in Vegas and NYC), Beauty…
