How ‘Nosferatu’ and Hitchcock Inspired the Cinematography of ‘Saltburn’

When Oscar-winning cinematographer Linus Sandgren first sat down with director Emerald Fennell to discuss the look of her latest film, “Saltburn,” a lot of things immediately came to mind, primarily Gothic literature and silent film. “Saltburn,” the follow-up to Fennell’s 202 debut feature “Promising Young Woman,” follows a young man (played by Barry Keoghan) who spends a holiday with a wealthy friend from school. His desperate obsession to fit in with the family leads him down dangerous and, ultimately, deadly roads. “I asked Emerald for words to describe the film and she said ‘vampire,’” Sandgren told TheWrap. “She [also] said,…

Ted Cruz Makes Fox Host Defend MSNBC After Saying ‘They Don’t Cover News’ | Video

Fox News host Howard Kurtz found himself in the unusual position of defending rival MSNBC after Sen. Ted Cruz went on a rant against the network. After Kurtz asked Cruz if most media outlets are run by “wild-eyed liberals,” the senator swiftly answered, “Well, for whatever reason, yes. And MSNBC is a rabidly partisan, dishonest institution. They’re not, they don’t cover news, you know.” After Kurtz attempted to defend MSNBC and asserting that they do, in fact, cover news, Cruz went on, “No, they don’t. I’m going to give you an example. Three weeks ago, I and several other senators…

That Time Trump Was Caught Lying on CNN About His Book-Reading Habits | Video

It’s not really news that Donald Trump fabricates stories and lies all the time, but this clip from a 1987 interview on CNN’s “Crossfire” showed that the future president was basically always this way. When asked if he’d read Wolfe’s recently released book “The Bonfire of the Vanities,” Trump said, “I did not.” The conversation continued along those lines and Buchanan asked, “What’s the best book you’ve read besides ‘Art of the Deal’?” Trump insisted that he “really liked” Wolfe’s last book… which happened…

George Conway Throws Water on Notion of a Trump Victory From Supreme Court Decision: ‘Isn’t a Big Deal’ | Video

Count George Conway among those who are less than impressed by the Supreme Court’s decision Friday to pass on an expedited request to decide whether Donald Trump is protected by immunity in the Jan. 6-related federal case against him. Conway is the conservative attorney and now TV analyst who wrote the plaintiff’s brief in the landmark 1997 Supreme Court immunity case that forced Bill Clinton to sit for a deposition in a lawsuit brought by Paula Jones. In Trump’s case, Conway said it won’t make much difference because the former president’s appeal to a lower court likely will be decided…
