After three weeks of action, 68 teams and millions of busted brackets, the 2017 NCAA Tournament came down to east vs. west as UNC took on Gonzaga Monday night. The Tar Heels came out victorious with a final score of 71-65 as Roy Williams’ team made up for the heartbreaking buzzer-beater loss to Villanova last year, a victory which the coach attributed to their motto for the season: “tough enough.” UNC is now just the fourth team to lose the national championship but come back to win it the next year. The win also marked the third national championship for Williams since he became head coach in…

Take the Neil Gorsuch Test. What do you see? I admit seeing an exemplar of the Colorado values we natives treasure and take pride. Without making any observations about his judicial experience, philosophy or political ideology – highly relevant to his U.S. Senate confirmation process – Neil Gorsuch represents Colorado well. On the other hand, if when you see Neil Gorsuch’s image what comes to mind is our man-baby president – then you can’t imagine casting a vote to put Trump’s nominee on the U.S. Supreme Court. The President has only one more weighty authority than making a nomination to…

(Spoilers ahead, obviously, for the season 7 finale of AMC’s “The Walking Dead”) One of my biggest complaints about “The Walking Dead” in general is it rarely allows anyone to have time to enjoy victories, thanks to its insistence on filling every possible moment with existential dread. Not so for several episodes on season 7, however — including the finale. It was a near thing, of course. This show can’t ever just let Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and co. win a fight straight up and call it a day. They had a plan for dealing with Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and…

Without his professional liars and deniers, there’s no Trump. It takes a village to help a man-child stay in power. #WhiteHouse #Enablers pic.twitter.com/Db1y77i3RR — Bill Maher (@billmaher) April 1, 2017 Bill Maher came out swinging on his HBO show “Real Time” Friday night, not just taking aim at Donald Trump, but also at his “enabling” peeps who surround him. “Without his professional liars and deniers, there’s no Trump. It takes a village to help a man-child stay in power,” Maher said in his New Rules segment. “If you get up every day and try to make Donald Trump’s ludicrous and…

DreamWorks Animation has gone through its share of upheaval, with a few big successes (Shrek, Madagascar) and some notable failures. Since its first animation releases in 1998, it has changed, diversified, merged and been acquired by major studios (first Paramount, now Universal). Given those fluctuations it’s not surprising that its roster of 33 movies are of varying quality. With their latest –Trolls– opening Friday, we take a look at the best and worst that DreamWorks has to offer. How to Train Your Dragon (2010): Audiences are joyfully transported watching Hiccup, a gangly teenage boy and Toothless, his beloved, green-eyed…
