‘SNL': Men Are Completely Oblivious in the Dystopia of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ (Video)
In the “SNL” version of Hulu’s original show “The Handmaid’s Tale,” completely oblivious men apparently missed out on the government-sanctioned subjugation of women. The sketch finds Cecily Strong playing Elisabeth Moss’ character Offred, as she and the other handmaids — who are enslaved by the government to bear children for important men — walk through town. WGA Approves New Film, TV Contract
The WGA West and East have approved a new film and TV contact, leaving just the need for the guild members’ ratification, which is expected. The development led to jubilation at the guild meetings in both Los Angeles and New York Thursday night, plus praise for chief negotiator David Lloyd. Federal inmates get random urine tests for signs of use of drugs like heroin, cocaine or marijuana. But in the alcohol and drug rehabilitation web newsletter The Fix, former federal inmate turned-writer Seth Ferranti, who served time for an LSD offense, argues the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) has yet to come to grips with the growing use of synthetic marijuana.
