Six months after filing paperwork for an IPO with the Hong Kong stock exchange, STX Entertainment has backed away from those plans, an individual with knowledge of the situation tells TheWrap. In a memo to employees that was provided to TheWrap, STX CEO Robert Simonds cited volatile political and market conditions in the region, as well as undisclosed better opportunities, for the company’s decision to allow its application on the Hong Kong exchange to lapse. One day after she defended and then apologized for defending the use of blackface in Halloween costumes, Megyn Kelly has parted ways with CAA and hired talent litigation lawyer Bryan Freedman. The powerhouse agency stopped representing Kelly, who hosts the 9 a.m. hour of NBC’s “Today,” on Wednesday, an individual with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap. But no reason was provided.
