2019 marks the 50th anniversary of San Diego Comic-con, but that doesn’t mean anyone will take it easy when the big event kicks off on July 17. There’ll be plenty of partying to be had throughout the week, from a chance to kick it with a hip hop legend, bashes for shows like Amazon’s “The Expanse” and “Carnival Row,” to unofficial soirees celebrating fan-favorites like “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Stranger Things.” Plus, you can try out libations inspired by “Game of Thrones” at the week’s most exclusive bash, attend a fundraiser for the Comic-Con Museum, and even preview the…

In “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” stormtroopers are getting yet another makeover, and while Comic-Con 2019 fans will be first to see the new look up close, you can check out some photos right now. On Wednesday, the official “Star Wars” site released the first images of “Sith Troopers,” the newest incarnation of the franchise’s iconic Empire soldiers. Distinguished from ordinary “Star Wars” stormtroopers by their bright red color instead of white, they also feature intricately detailed armor rather than mainly smooth curves. The images were taken from this year’s line of “Star Wars” Comic-Con exclusives. First, check out…

The early consensus after the world premiere Tuesday night of Disney’s “The Lion King” remake is that it’s visually staggering, has plenty of heart, and tugs nostalgically on the heartstrings of anyone who saw the 1994 original as a kid. So hakuna matata, Disney. (If you’ve forgotten the original, that means “no worries.”) “If you’re hoping this will be a near-exact adaptation of the animated movie with some absolutely jaw-dropping visual effects, you’ll get what you’re looking for,” IGN’s Terri Schwartz tweeted.
