Jimmy Kimmel declared that “the Tim Walz are closing in” on Donald Trump during his Wednesday night monologue, thanks to the open letter published earlier in the day by more than 100 former Republican officials who have endorsed Kamala Harris. “A hundred and eleven former Republican national security officials and members of Congress published a letter today endorsing Kamala Harris for president<” Kimmel explained. Read more about the letter here. “They say Donald Trump is ‘unfit to serve as president,’” Kimmel continued. “Or, to serve at a Cheesecake Factory.” “It is a scathing letter. We’ve never seen anything like this…

“The Bear” crushed a lot of the competition on Sunday night, even if it failed to take home best comedy series for a second year in a row, losing to “Hacks.” Even so, the FX on Hulu series is still Emmy royalty. Now, between the seven trophies the second season of “The Bear” took home at the Creative Arts Emmys earlier this month and the four Primetime Emmys it added to the haul…

Jimmy Kimmel was certain on Thursday night that after debating Kamala Harris, Donald Trump “is clearly terrified of facing her again.” In fact, the debate went so poorly for Trump, Kimmel argued in his monologue, “he doesn’t know whether to call it ‘Eric’ or ‘Don Jr’ at this point.” “The problem though for Donald Trump is — you know, he’s a big tough guy — dodging a debate makes him look like the coward that he is. And she challenged him to another and immediately he wants no part of it,” Kimmel argued. He was of course referring to Trump’s…

“After Midnight” is low key the funniest late night show on television, thanks in large part to the brilliance of host Taylor Tomlinson. When the show was announced with Tomlinson as the host, people mistakenly thought it would be a proper talk show instead of a reboot of the classic Comedy Central game show featuring comedians riffing on current events as filtered through the internet. Tomlinson obliged those people when she reverse-engineered the show into a hybrid, with a monologue at the top of the show and in the middle, “the talk show portion” where she and her guests chat,…

Jimmy Kimmel was certain on Tuesday night that Kamala Harris is the clear winner of the debate earlier in the evening against Donald Trump. “It was like watching the Lorax debate the Grinch tonight. Usually when Donald Trump gets a spanking like this from a woman it’s with a Forbes Magazine. Kamala was pushing his buttons like a 12-year-old playing Fortnite,” Kimmel joked during his monologue. “Oh, this was a much better debate than the last debate,” he joked. “This is like ‘The Lion King’ when Simba came back to avenge Mufasa.” “Trump’s advisors before the debate, they urged him…

Kaitlan Collins is preparing for Tuesday’s presidential debate by getting some clarification on a likely topic of conversation: Project 2025. Paul Dans, the former director of Project 2025, sat down with the CNN anchor on Monday night (a month after cancelling his initial appearance) for his first TV interview since exiting the controversial org in late July. CNN began their segment by playing a montage of Trump distancing himself from the strategic maneuver — “We have nothing to do with Project 25,” “I don’t even know what the hell it is,” “I don’t know anything about it” — offset by…

The third Bruce Springsteen documentary by director Thom Zimny to play at the Toronto International Film Festival, “Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band” is also the biggest, the most expansive and the most all-encompassing. Ostensibly a chronicle of the world tour that Springsteen undertook last year, his first in six years, it also functions as a career retrospective of sorts. But more than that, it becomes a story of life and loss, because that’s the singular position occupied by the 2023-2024 tour. Where “The Promise: The Making of Darkness of the Edge of Town” (TIFF 2010) was…
