(Minor spoiler alert: Please don’t read ahead unless you’ve seen Tuesday’s episode of “This Is Us.”)
Old looks good on Jack Pearson.
The promo for the Season 2 finale of “This Is Us” aired after Tuesday’s episode, giving us our first glimpse at the wedding of Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Toby (Chris Sullivan). But really, who cares about the bride and groom when one of your guests is a dead guy?
That’s right, Milo Ventimiglia’s Jack is featured in the teaser. Yes, we’re serious. No, it’s not a flashback.

The Pearson family patriarch is seen rocking graying hair, a salt-and-pepper goatee and some spectacles. The best part? He’s standing opposite his wife Rebecca (Mandy Moore), wondering aloud, “Where’d the time go, Bec?”
As every fan of the NBC drama now knows, Jack died on the special post-Super Bowl episode in January. Our favorite Steelers fan went into sudden cardiac arrest due to smoke inhalation while being checked out for burns at the hospital, after saving his family (and the dog) from a house fire started by a very old Crock-Pot with a faulty switch.
So does this teaser mean Jack is somehow still alive? There are alternate timelines here? Creator Dan Fogleman wants to find some other way to bring you joy and then jerk tears from your eyesockets next week? Probably the last one.
