If you thought the “Moonlight”/”La La Land” envelope fiasco was the Oscars’ only glaring mistake, think again. The “In Memoriam” segment of Sunday’s show included a tribute to costume designer and four-time nominee Janet Patterson — but ran a photo of the very-much-still-alive Australian producer Jan Chapman by mistake. The two women worked together on Jane Campion’s 1994 film “The Piano,” for which they both received Oscar nominations, and Chapman’s image does appear in some photo databases under Patterson’s name. The truth matters. In this moment of panic as Trump terrorizes immigrants, we should not abandon the truth to highlight the brutality of Trump’s immigration policies. Trump’s Executive Orders on immigration, his expansion of who is defined as a criminal and his rhetoric about “bad hombres” are a departure from Obama, but not as much as we might like to believe. If progressives keep lying to themselves about their past, they are doomed to continue to push the same failed policies of the corporate wing of the Democratic party, exemplified by Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. On immigration, the answer…

Karl Lagerfeld should know better than to mess with Miranda Priestly, er, Meryl Streep. The Academy Award winner and 20-time nominee issued a blistering statement accusing the Chanel designer of defaming her when he said the “Florence Foster Jenkins” star turned down his couture gown because she would not receive a fee to wear it at Sunday’s Oscar ceremony. “Karl Lagerfeld, a prominent designer, defamed me, my stylist, and the illustrious designer whose dress I chose to wear, in an important industry publication,” Streep said through a spokesperson on Saturday night. About 1500 people made it down to UTA headquarters today for the talent agency’s big pre-Oscars protest of Donald Trump’s controversial immigration ban. Sure, the ban targeting Muslim immigrants has deeply divided the country, but it united Hollywood — against it, naturally. So it is that while ears were fixed on Jodie Foster’s fiery speech, eyes were on attendees, who came strapped with protest signs denouncing — and mocking — the President. Well, except for the one dude who braved a swarm of liberal coastal elites to rep Team Trump. Here are some examples. Lots of immigrants make their home and their living in Hollywood, saving us from repeating the terrible mistake of having…

(Spoiler alert: Please do not read on if you haven’t watched Thursday’s episode of “Nashville”) There were plenty of tears flowing among “Nashville” fans on Thursday night, plus floods of enraged reactions. The object of their wrath was the death of a key character who has been on the show since the beginning, when it first aired on ABC in 2012 before being canceled and then saved by CMT for Season 5. Rayna, the veteran superstar of country music played by Connie Britton, was killed off in the episode titled “If Tomorrow Never Comes.” Also Read: 'Nashville' and Other TV Hits Lift Lionsgate…

Here’s a condensed version of my conversations with some marijuana consumers over the past nine months who’ve commented on my articles, convinced that the marijuana industry wouldn’t be a target for the Department of Justice under Donald Trump. ME: I’m telling you, shitty candidate as she may be, you’d better vote for Hillary Clinton if you want…
