This week, the world finally gets to meet “Nosferatu” … again. Writer/director Robert Eggers’ vampire adventure is an adaptation of the 1922 silent movie classic, itself a loose adaptation of Bram Stoker’s “Dracula,” with a starry cast that includes Lily-Rose Depp, Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney and Willem Dafoe. It follows many of the same beats as “Dracula,” with Eggers’ typical attention to historical detail and sumptuous camerawork (from the filmmaker’s regular cinematographer Jarin Blaschke). TheWrap sat down with Eggers and Dafoe about their latest adventure on “Nosferatu,” which marks their third collaboration…

Note: This story contains spoilers from “Dune: Prophecy” Episode 6. “Dune: Prophecy” finally took some characters to the fabled planet Arrakis in the finale of Season 1, but much more of the locale is to come in the second season. The first season of the sci-fi prequel – which explored the rise of the Bene Gesserit 10,000 years before the birth of Paul Atreides – ended with Valya (Emily Watson) escaping to the desert planet with Ynez (Sarah-Sofie Boussina) and Keiran (Chris Mason) as Desmond (Travis Fimmel) took more control of Salusa Secundus. Showrunner Alison Shapker admitted at a recent…

Tom Hanks opened the Christmas episode of “Saturday Night Live” on Saturday donning a five-timers jacket as he prepared to induct host Martin Short, noting that he created the club himself in 1990. But he was far from the last celebrity to show up to usher Short into the exclusive club as the episode featured the most-star-studded five-timers sketch ever. As the “SNL” cold open continued, the cameos flowed: Paul Rudd, Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Kristen Wiig, Scarlett Johansson, Emma Stone, Melissa McCarthy, John Mulaney and Jimmy Fallon all showed up. Hanks addressed the popularity of the club, saying it…

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been accused of rape, again, by two different women who filed separate lawsuits on Friday. The incidents were alleged to have occurred in 1991 and 2006, respectively. In the first lawsuit, filed by an anonymous Jane Doe who lives in Louisiana, Combs is accused of drugging and then raping the woman just moments before the Dec. 28, 1991 City College stampede. According to the woman, she had traveled to New York to visit friends over the Christmas holiday. While there another friend, described only “a rapper who wasprominent in the industry at the time,” invited her…

Back in 2003, when the third revival of “Gypsy” opened on Broadway, the big behind-the-scenes news was a spat that broke out in previews between the show’s director, Sam Mendes, and Arthur Laurents’ longtime partner, Tom Hatcher. Laurents wrote the book for the 1959 classic, and went on to direct the first Broadway revival starring Angela Lansbury in 1974, and the second one, starring Tyne Daly in 1989. In other words, the show’s book writer-turned-director harbored proprietary feelings, and Hatcher was there to defend his boyfriend’s prized possession. There had been doubts about the 2003 revival’s Mama Rose – shouldn’t…

Stephen Colbert wanted to tell viewers that he hopes “your eggs are nogged and your nuts are fully megged” this Christmas — but after saying that, he had to complain about a recent poll showing many Americans have ditched certain Christmas traditions. Especially the idea people would rather have burgers for Christmas dinner than Turkey. “Just a little over one week away from Christmas, and I would say, I hope your stockings are hung by the chimney with care, your eggs are nogged and your nuts are fully Megged,” Colbert joked during his monologue on Tuesday’s “The Late Show.” “But…

Donald Trump sued prominent political analyst and pollster Ann Selzer, the Des Moines Register and its parent company Gannett Monday for “brazen election interference” and fraud after Selzer incorrectly predicted a swing-state win in Iowa for Vice President Kamala Harris just a day before the presidential election last month. Trump went on to win the state by 13 percentage points. The suit was filed late Monday in Polk County, Iowa under the Iowa Consumer Fraud Act and related provisions — just hours after Trump had publicly threatened legal action against Selzer for her false prediction as accusations of election interference…

For a show like “Yellowstone,” where storylines have always been explosive and sensational, Sunday’s Season 5 (series?) finale was more of a whimper than a bang. The nearly two-hour episode found the whole Dutton clan wrapping up their business — selling the ranch, burying their father, killing their brother and so on — but the action seemed to come and go fairly quickly in favor of more cowboy glorifying, beautiful shots of endless vistas and long, lingering stares. In a way, it makes sense that “Yellowstone” ended this way. John Dutton (Kevin Costner) never seemed to be one for drama,…

“SNL” opened Saturday’s show by tackling the thirst surrounding alleged UnitedHealthcare CEO killer Luigi Mangione through the lens of Nancy Grace, with cast member Sarah Sherman having a ball with her impression of the crime TV personality. Sherman delighted in twisting the pronunciation of words as her Nancy Grace appeared outraged by the reaction to Mangione. “The healthcare assassin Luigi Mangione has got women and gay guys alive all hot and bothered,” Sherman’s Grace said. “I mean seriously? This guy looks like Dave Franco with Eugene Levy’s eyebrows.” Except instead of “seriously” Sherman pronounced it more like “sry-uh-zlee?” Crime Stories…

Thomas and Ruth O’Brien, the parents of comedian and late night host Conan O’Brien, have died. Thomas, an epidemiologist, was 95, and Ruth, a lawyer, was 92.
