It appears that Taylor Swift is a Shondaland fan too.
The singer debuted her new track “New Year’s Day” during Thursday’s episode of “Scandal” during ABC’s block of TGIT shows.
Swift was seen hosting an intimate performance of the song in a stand-alone feature airing during the hit drama. The three-minute spot was filmed at her Rhode Island house and shows the Grammy winner surrounded by 100 fans in her living room for the secret session.

The special segment came ahead of the midnight release of Swift’s highly-anticipated new album “Reputation.”
On Wednesday, she was among the winners at the CMA Awards, picking up the Song of the Year award for “Better Man,” which she wrote for Little Big Town.

TGIT kicked off on ABC Thursday with the milestone 300th episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” at 8 p.m., followed by “Scandal,” then “How to Get Away with Murder.”
