Trevor Noah Wants to Save the Amazon With Trump’s ‘Magic Sharpie’ (Video)

On Thursday’s “The Daily Show,” Trevor Noah came up with a good use for Donald Trump’s obsession with whether or not Alabama was ever threatened by Hurricane Dorian — to help fix the Amazon jungle fires.

On Sunday, Trump tweeted that Alabama was in the path of Dorian. But it turned out that actually wasn’t the case, and as per usual when Trump says something weird, a lot of people made fun of him. Mistakes happen, but for some reason Trump has spent the week since insisting he didn’t actually make a mistake. On Wednesday, he showed reporters in the White House a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration map projecting the path of Dorian that had clearly been altered, with a Sharpie, to extend the projected path into southern Alabama.

Noah said that Dorian is “such a crazy storm that it somehow hit the Bahamas, the Carolinas, and then thanks to President Trump’s Sharpie pen, also Alabama.”

He then then turned the discussion to the issue of climate change, including the Amazon fires.

“Who can stop this,” Noah asked.

The answer: “Donald J. Trump.”

“See, what we need to do is get the president to pull out that magic Sharpie of his, and we need to get him to send that hurricane down from Alabama all the way to Brazil,” said Noah, who pulled out a map and demonstrated how it would work.
