Kellyanne Conway Takes Awkward Visual Aid to ‘Hannity’ — Meme Avalanche Ensues

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway intended to use her appearance Wednesday night on Sean Hannity’s Fox News show to present the Trump administration’s take on the ongoing Russia probe and the scandal involving Donald Trump, Jr. Instead, she provided the internet, and perhaps herself, with an object lesson in “things you can easily photoshop” when she made her case using an amateurishly awkward visual aid.

During the appearance, Conway held up two white sheets of paper with writing — in sharpie — on them. “Conclusion? Collusion” read the sheet in her right hand, with the word “collusion” awkwardly crossed out. “Illusion Delusion” went the sheet in her left hand.

“This is to help all the people at home” she said. “What’s the conclusion? Collusion? No, we don’t have that yet. I see illusion and delusion. So just so we’re clear everyone, four words. Conclusion, collusion no. Illusion, delusion, yes,” she said.

Conway had plenty to say about the scandal, which involves a meeting a year ago between Donald Jr., Jared Kushner, and Paul Manafort with a Russian Lawyer who apparently offered information that would help the Trump campaign, but came from the Russian government. “I love it,” said Trump Jr. when told about the offer. But Conway’s words were overshadowed by the awkwardness of the visual aid, and the fact that white paper and a controversial public figure is to the internet what waving around raw meat is to a bear.

Instantly, the Internet starting having fun with words just like Conway. Some replaced the words on the cards themselves, while others focused on her singsong, rhyming attempt at a buzzword.

Conway’s visual aids also reminded some on Twitter of another set of visual aids, from a certain “Saturday Night Live” sketch starring Kate McKinnon as Hillary Clinton.

And really, Conway’s four rhyming words did have a sort of ring to them.

Maybe Kellyanne is just prepping the world so she can drop her summer hit, “Conclusion, Collusion, Illusion, Delusion!” Much like “Pinot Noir” from Titus Andromedon (Titus Burgess) of “The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.”

After all, it worked for INXS.
