On Friday’s episode of “The Late Show,” Stephen Colbert tried to make sense of Vice President Mike Pence’s connection to the Donald Trump impeachment inquiry with a game called “Corrupt or Dumb.”
During his opening monologue, Colbert talked about the news that Pence met with Ukrainian President Volodymy Zewlensky in September, and apparently pressured him to investigate Joe Biden. Further, according to the Washington Post, this meeting came after Pence was given a transcript of the call Trump had with Zelensky in July that is now at the center of the impeachment inquiry.
Colbert noted that a Pence spokesperson told the Post that Pence spoke to Zelensky “probably without having read — or at least fully registered — the transcript.”

“That’s like saying ‘officer, you can’t give me a ticket, I probably didn’t read the stop sign,’” Colbert joked. “‘Or if I did, I didn’t register what it said.”
Right after that, Colbert invited his audience to play a round of “Corrupt or Dumb,” in which an ’80s game show-style display attempts to determine if Pence is, well, you can read.
The answer shouldn’t surprise anyone familiar with Stephen Colbert’s work.
