It seems that Donald Trump is pulling out all the stops to try and get familiar faces to perform at his upcoming inauguration. Garret Gomez, Breeders’ Cup Winning Jockey, Dies at 44

Garret Gomez, a jockey with 3,769 wins to his name including winning the Breeders’ Cup 13 times, was found dead on Wednesday. He was 44. His daughter, Shelley Gomez, confirmed his death but gave no further details, the BloodHorse.com was the first to report. Having officially retired in June 2015, Gomez was known to have a history of substance abuse issues. According to the Daily Racing Forum, he was found in a casino hotel in Tuscon, Arizona. Study Shows 39 Percent Reduction In Prison Population Would Not Affect Public Safety

Hollywood Studios Win Injunction Against Streaming Service VidAngel

A U.S. district judge has granted a preliminary injunction against streaming service VidAngel on behalf of Walt Disney Co., Lucasfilm, 20th Century Fox Film and Warner Bros. Entertainment, who filed a lawsuit in June accusing the company for illegally ripping DVDs and streaming without a license. The Provo, Utah-based start-up allows people to stream cleaned-up versions of movies including “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and “Deadpool” for $1 each by filtering out unwanted language, sex and nudity from movies. In the complaint, the studios asked the court to block VidAngel from violating their copyrights, the L.A. Times reported.
