Luke Bryan on Why He Punched ‘Disruptive’ Heckler During Concert (Video)

Luke Bryan came out swinging on Wednesday night after a concertgoer heckled him from the audience during his Nashville, Tennessee, show.

YouTube video captured by Nash Country Daily shows the man flipping off the country singer during charitable show, Charlie Daniels’ Volunteer Jam, and then Bryan aggressively responding by punching him.

After videos and photos of the angry interaction flooded social media, Bryan’s camp issued a statement about the heckler on Thursday, Billboard reported.

“A man in [the] front row was making crude hand gestures toward Luke during his performance,” the statement said. “It was insulting not only to him, but more importantly to the men, women and families sitting around him who were there to support and celebrate Charlie Daniels and the efforts of raising money for the military veterans — some of who were in the audience.

“The concert security personnel saw the man’s disruptive actions of the event and he was escorted out,” it concluded.

Video footage shows the man in the front row flipping the bird to Bryan while he is performing his hit song “Move,” prompting the singer to reach down to hit him, while still holding his mic, before resuming his performance without missing a beat.

According to Rolling Stone, two men were involved in the altercation, with one of them holding a sign that read one: “We can see your camel toe,” referring to the 40-year-old singer’s infamously tight jeans.
